So an update to my DV situation, I decided to take off the VAG DV head and put it on the original solenoid body, they fit perfectly. I put that combo on the car and no check engine light came on. Although it wasn't able to hold the boost pressure when I'm above 4k RPM, I could hear and feel the...
Yea I read that we'll have to take it off so now and then to apply some engine oil on the piston... Well I am getting pretty desperate so I guess I'll bite the bullet.
I saw a few on Ebay UK going for about 115gbp, would this be the best place to buy it?
Well a small update on this. The holes for the bolt of the DV that I bought didn't align with the holes on the turbo. Only 2 of the holes aligned. Regardless, I put it on any way and tested it. My check engine light came on and stayed on. Took it for a bit of a hard drive and I can hear the air...
Yep, that's correct, it's LFD where I am!
And yeah I managed to figure out where the master cylinder is :) just gotta try find where the slave cylinder is.
I'll have a look around over the weekend, but thanks for the help tho!
As far as I'm aware, yea. That's why I suspected it was either the master cylinder or slave cylinder. My brake fluid is also slightly lower now that I checked.
Well it's not the same as the one that came originally with the car (the one with the diaphragm) because I wanted to use the newer version with the piston. It's the right size, just a bit longer, but as you can see the connector is different...
Yep I changed my H7 and H1 bulbs to LED as well, it looks much better! The space is a bit tight tho especially because of the fans on the LEDs.
I can tell you that changing the H1 bulbs was one of the most frustrating experiences I had, all because of how tight the space is which made putting...
Hey all, so recently the clutch pedal became more sticky than usual. At one point it was completely stuck on the bottom, luckily I wasn't driving then.
I've read around that it could be due to the Master + Slave Cylinder being worn out and needing replacement. Any ideas on whether this is...
So I went ahead and changed the original gear knob with a full stainless steel weighted knob (585 grams).
Had to shave down the plastic shaft so it becomes fully round and fitted an adapter on it, so now I can put whatever gear knob I want :D
The weighted knob does feel better with changing...
So just an update, I went ahead and tore down an old Nerf gun and found a spring that fits. I put that in between a gear knob adapter and the reverse lockout and it worked perfectly!
I still don't know if it's supposed to have a spring or not lol
I was interested in getting the GFB+ DV to use on my old broken DV. But the cost was a bit prohibitive for now, so I settled with getting a Pierburg OEM DV Rev D instead. The problem I have now is that the connector is different than what's in the RCZ  so I gotta change the electrical...
