Hi, sorry to hear about your troubles...I would advise everyone to buy a good fault code reader, they are only about £120 on ebay.
The OBD plug (On Board Diagnostic plug) is behind the ashtray next to gearstick. Lift out ashtray & rubber mat & you will see
16 pin socket plug. Plug in scanner &...

Hi Folks
Was wondering if anyone could help. Since garage replaced front wheel bearings front right abs sensor has stopped working.
I tried cleaning it but no difference. I put in brand new matching sensor but still not working.

Very important to change oil & filter regularly & something that is easy to do., especially if you get an electric pump that you can use
to take oil out the dipstick (cheap at around £15 from Ebay, Lidel etc)
I think my RZ is leaking oil from the tensioner so will replace that for sure.
Funny...
Thanks for replies. Thought the tensioner change might require timing lock up. We need to find positive proof of hours taken to change timing chain
to stop people getting ripped off.
My local garage quoted max £400 for job....he was not sure if it would take 6 or 8 hours....however he usually...
Thanks for replies...".Eric the repair guy" video on timing chain change in MINI is great,,,, wonder if he would fly over to Ayrshire to do my RCZ?
I suspect timing chain change in RCZ is not as long or as difficult as garages like to make out (for expert, proper mechanic)
I had a good look at...
Hi RZers
Just had funny/insulting phone call to garage to get quote for timing chain replacement cost.
I was looking for a specialist to replace timing chain in Ayrshire....there are a couple of garages I use but they seemed a bit unsure
of the job...though they said they could do it...…..
So...
Just had wheel off (again...) & checked plug wiring was correct...looked ok
So I had a look further along the cable underneath back of car & saw the dreaded black diy insulating tape hanging down just above the rear axle
hard to see & get at. Looks like our friendly neighbourhood T**T has been...
HI, you could get them painted silver chrome or whatever colour you want....I ve ujsed Autosol to polish out scratches then wax polish..looks good
till we get some heavy rain!!!. I was thinking of getiing very fine wet/dry sand paper & sanding them, using polish instead of water to lubricate...
Update on new RCZ front bearings. New stub axle/hub carrier/bearing carrier is SAME AS PEUGEOT 308.
Cost for BRAND NEW stub axle £35 from Ebay. Cost from Arnold Clark £391.00 (inc bearing(Meh) & VAT)
Cost of replacing both front bearings from local independent garage (Kilmarnock area)...
My P0016 code has come back & is staying on.....
Good info from boatdriver re P0016 code & VVT oil solenoid stuck.....I still have not yet changed my VVT solenoid as
the RZ is now stuck in the local garage awaiting a new stub axle....mechanic was replacing both front wheel bearings

ABS Sensor UPDATE
Have now removed old sensor using oversize Torx tool hammered into ABS 10mm Allen bolt & carefully unscrewing.
What fun!!! :D
I cleaned & checked ABS ring & rewired plug to body connection but are not able to test yet as front wheel axle stub is off the car
& its stuck in a...
Hi Folks, Its me again!
Noticed that car had classic sounds of wheel bearing on the way out (along with everything else!!)
So took to garage who diagnosed both front wheel bearings....so far so good..
On trying to remove nearside front bearing he had a lot of trouble removing it & broke his 10...
Update. Have not changed VVT solenoid as yet, however fully charged battery, changed oil/filter twice & cleared codes with OBD scanner.
P0016 code DISAPPEARED. Drove car for few miles & engine management light stayed off. Now 2 days later & its still off.
Your guess is a good as mine...….
